A dynamic singer and songwriter, gifted actress, and inspired author and radio personality, Thalia Sodi, better known to her countless fans as just Thalia, is an international superstar.  This beloved Latina’s career has spun over three decades, which began when she was just 9 years old in her native Mexico City with the children’s group Din Din and then as a member of pop sensation, Timbiriche. She has sold 40 million records Worldwide and has had 15 top 10 singles, 6 of which went to number one. Thalia has received numerous awards and accolades including a Latin Grammy, 3 Billboard awards and several Premios Juventud awards.


She is considered Mexico’s most famous telenovela (soap opera) actress with legions of followers from the Americas to Europe and the Far East. Her telenovelas, most notably, “The Maria Trilogies” which aired throughout the 1990’s and still air today, have been translated into many different languages, have been watched by over two billion people around the world and have aired in more than 180 countries.  She has been named one of People Magazine’s Most Beautiful (Los Más Bellos) a record nine times (May 2012) and top 25 Most Powerful Latinas by People en Espanol  (2011).

This truly multifaceted performer with a global audience  is currently the host of her own radio show, “Conexion Thalia,” a nationally syndicated show in its 5thyear for ABC/Cumulus Networks.  The show airs in 54 top US markets with hispanic DMA coverage of over 65%.


As an author,  her most recent book was a memoir released Nov. 1, 2011 by Penguin entitled, “Growing Stronger,” as well as 2007’s  “How-To” beauty book entitled “Belleza:Lessons in Lip Gloss and Happiness” and “RADIANTE! Fit and Fabulous Pregnancy” (May 09) for Moms-to-be- published by Chronicle Books of San Francisco.

Her career and very loyal fan base have provided her with many opportunities and platforms.  Some career highlights have included: performing at the White House twice (2001 & 2009) in conjunction with Hispanic Heritage month, and singing  with Dora the Explorer for Nickelodeon’s, “Dora Rescue in the Mermaid Kingdom”. She has over 45 sites dedicated to her online, from Romania to the Phillipines and has launched very successful collections for women and girls with Kenmark Optical, as well as KMart. Now in it’s 8th year, her eyewear line has reached over 120MM in retail sales and is sold in over 6000 optical retailers worldwide.  Kmart’s “Thalia Sodi Collection” began in 2003 with apparel and accessories in 330 stores nationwide. In 2004 she partnered with Hershey’s Food Corp to create the “La Dulceria Thalia” – Thalia Candy Shop introducing Latin flavors to an American audience which included chili based flavors and dulce de leche fillings. Further, this partnership helped establish an Achievement Scholarship award at the Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA spearheaded by Thalia.

To this end, Thalia has become one of the most “followed” and influential latin celebrities. She has over 4MM twitter followers (per twitter counter August 2012)  and 1,811,463  “Likes” or “friends” on Facebook. was featured on CWA – Creative Website Awards (January 2008) and recently applauded in Taschen’s design book Web Design: Navigation. 

Thalia is a national spokesperson for the MARCH OF DIMES and is a supporter of  such non–profit organizations as ST. JUDE Children’s Research Hospital, Police Athletic League (PAL) of NYC and CASITA MARIA, an afterschool program and facility serving primarily Hispanic children of the South Bronx.

Most recently, she performed a duet with Michael Buble, “Feliz Navidad” on his Christmas cd and appeared on his NBC Special (Dec. 2011). Currently, Thalia is in the studio recording her 14th cd entiled “HABITAME SIEPMPRE” on Sony Music and has recorded a duet with Tony Bennett for his upcoming Columbia release entitled Latin Duets.  

Thalia lives in New York with her husband, Tommy Mottola and their two children.
