Mexican singer and actress Thalía announced via Twitter that she has given birth in New York to a second child, a boy.
“Thalía, Tommy and Sabrina joyfully announce the birth of Matthew Alejandro Mottola”, she said. About Saturday’s blessed event, Thalía’s agent said “all are well and they couldn’t be happier”.
Matthew is the second child the 39-year-old Mexican artist has had with music executive husband Tommy Mottola, 61, whom she married in December 2000. Their first child was Sabrina Sakaë, born in 2007.
The ex-chairman and CEO of Sony Music Entertainment has two other children by a previous marriage, Michael and Sarah.
The Mexican actress, singer, writer and businesswoman has sold more than 40 million discs and her latest musical production, “Primera Fila” (Thalía in the Limelight) was 35 weeks on the Billboard charts. She currently hosts the radio program “Conexión Thalía” (Thalía Connection).
Mottola has promoted the careers of such outstanding artists as Celine Dion, Destiny’s Child, Mariah Carey, Ricky Martin, Shakira, Gloria Estefan, The Dixie Chicks, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony.
